Saudi Arabia to host First International Standards Summit on Nov 4

Riyadh (UNA-OIC) – Saudi Arabia will host the First International Standards Summit, to be organized by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) on 4 November.

The summit will be held under the patronage of Saudi Minister of Commerce and SASO Chairman Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, as part of the activities taking place on the sidelines of the Saudi G20 Presidency.

This first international summit specialized in standards comes as an affirmation of the pioneering role that Saudi Arabia plays in enhancing ways and means of cooperation and integration between countries of the world in various fields, especially technical areas that boost economic capabilities and push the rates of trade and investment exchange to broader horizons.

The Riyadh summit will focus on the role of national standards bodies in facing crises. It will also discuss the role of standard specifications in enabling governmental, private and non-profit institutions to overcome those crises and reduce their negative impacts.

The summit will further review the role of standard specifications in strengthening the essential and delicate role of digital transformation in crises.
