Pakistan's Foreign Minister receives UNA Director-General in Islamabad

Islamabad (UNA-OIC) – Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi received Wednesday Director-General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) Mohammed Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, at the headquarters of the ministry in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

Qureshi discussed with Al-Yami the ongoing preparations for convening the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which will be hosted by Pakistan on March 22-23.

The two sides touched on the media support of the Union to the Foreign Ministers Conference at the level of OIC Member States. They also discussed the strategy developed to cover the activities accompanying Pakistan’s presidency of the Conference of Foreign Ministers, thus contributing to highlighting the important and pivotal roles of the Republic of Pakistan in promoting joint Islamic action.

The meeting further addressed the media issues on the agenda of the Foreign Ministers Conference, ways to strengthen the role of the OIC media institutions in them, and coordinating efforts among the media outlets in member states to serve common Islamic causes.
