Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the outcome of the virtual Sudan Partnership Conference held in Berlin Thursday, and the high-level attendance, which confirms the international community’s commitment to supporting the transition in Sudan in order to face all security and development challenges in the country.
The General Secretariat commended the support provided by member states, particularly the headquarters country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to the Transition Government in Sudan. It also praised the efforts of Islamic financing institutions in supporting Sudan, especially the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD).
The General Secretariat reaffirmed the OIC’s commitment to utilizing all its resources to support the Sudanese Transitional Government, in line with the resolutions of the Islamic Summit and the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM).
