OIC calls for urgent aid for Cameroonian, Sudanese refugees arriving in Chad

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha, follows with deep concern the humanitarian situation in Chad following the arrival of thousands of Cameroonian and Sudanese refugees fleeing inter-communal conflicts in northeastern Cameroon and Sudan’s Darfur.

Building on the call for aid launched on 8 December 2021 by President of Chad’s Military Transitional Council Gen. Mahamat Idriss Deby, the OIC Secretary-General invited the Member States, OIC financial institutions and international partners to provide prompt assistance to enable Chad to address this humanitarian emergency.
