Jordan's agriculture minister, FAO representative discuss food security cooperation

Amman (UNA-OIC) – Jordanian Minister of Agriculture Mohammed Daoudia discussed with the Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Amman, Nabil Assaf, the bilateral cooperation to achieve agricultural development and food security.

During a meeting held here on Wednesday, Assaf presented the “existing” projects scheduled to be implemented in this area.

For his part, Daoudia stressed the importance of adopting government priorities contained in the National Strategy for Agricultural Development (NSAD) to ensure the development of the agricultural sector, and strengthen the resilience of small farmers and food producers.

The Jordanian minister also stressed as crucial the introduction of modern technologies to enhancing productivity and diversify agricultural production to achieve royal directives by promoting the sector’s competitiveness to achieve food security.
