Iran’s membership in ICA aimed at identifying target markets

Bahman Abdollahi who was speaking at a press conference on the occasion of the International Cooperatives Day, congratulated the Iranian cooperatives’ activists, and also informed that Iran Cooperatives Center is established in Russia.

Abdollahi said that Iran’s membership in ICA will lead to expansion of Iran’s commercial and economic relations with many world nations.

He said that it is the first time in the ICA history that the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives has gained a seat at the ICA presiding board, adding that the opportunity provides the chance for using the experience, capacities, technologies, and scientific know-how of the world to any extent that our country has the potential to do so.

He said that another objective of membership in ICA is broadening economic cooperation with the world, and getting access to new markets for the Iranian products in those 112 countries, which is a great progress for the Iranian foreign trade.

Abdollahi said that transfer of the most up-to-date cooperatives experience and sciences to Iran, identifying the target markets, facilitating the exports of the Iranian cooperatives, and absorbing the international contributions to the Iranian cooperatives, are the most important objectives of the ICC during its four-year membership at the presiding board of the ICA.

The International Co-operative Day is an annual celebration of the co-operative movement observed on the first Saturday in July since 1923 by the International Cooperatives Alliance.
