The ambassadors during their day-long visit of the Iranian city visited the Pahlevanpur Garden and the Hassanabad aqueduct which are both internationally registered, and the historical castles of that township.

The head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Office of Mehriz Township briefing the ambassadors during their visit said that more than 600 historical, natural and cultural attractions of Mehriz have been identified so far, out of which 115 monuments have been registered in National Monuments List.

Mojahed Karbasi added that two of those monuments, namely the Pahlevanpur Garden and the Hassanabad aqueduct have also been internationally registered, and the beautiful monuments attract a large number of Iranian and foreign tourists each year.

The Pahlevanpur Garden and the Hassanabad Moshir aqueduct, as well as Dehnou aqueduct are registered in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Mehriz City was first constructed by Mehrnegar, an Iranian princess, and the daughter of the Sassanid Dynasty King Anoushirvan, whose governance in Iran dated back to the pre-Islamic era.

The population of Mehriz is now 55,000, and the township is located 30 kilometers to the south of the provincial capital city, Yazd.
