Ending Palestinian-Israeli conflict is based on two-state solution, Jordan's king affirms

New York (UNA-OIC) – King Abdullah II of Jordan affirmed that the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international law and resolutions of the United Nations.
“As long as injustice and lack of peace persist, anywhere in the world, the UN must not rest; we must not rest,” King Abdullah said while delivering Jordan’s address on Tuesday at the high-level General Debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, held virtually for the first time.
He reaffirmed that the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict must be based on the two-state solution.
“The only way towards just and lasting peace must lead to an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state, on the June 4th, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side-by-side with Israel, in mutual peace and security,” the king said.
“As Hashemite Custodian, I am bound by a special duty to safeguard Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites, but the responsibility for the Holy City falls on us all,” he added.
