In the presence of OIC SG, WDO and UNA sign MoU

Nouakchott (UNA-OIC) – In the presence of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, H.E. Mr . Hissein Brahim Taha, the Women Development Organization (WDO) and the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) signed on Friday (17 March 2023) a memorandum of understanding.

The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 49th session of the Council of the OIC Foreign Ministers, held in Nouakchott, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

WDO was represented during the signing by its Executive Director, Dr Afnan Al-Shuaiby, while UNA was represented by its Acting Director-General, Mohammed Abd Rabbo Al-Yami.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation between the two OIC specialized institutions in serving women’s issues in the OIC Member States, employ media to spread awareness about women’s rights, and collaborate to organize the necessary programs and activities for achieving these goals.

Notably, several diplomats and Permanent Representatives to the OIC attended the signing ceremony.
