Tashkent (UNA-OIC) – Uzbekistan will host the 46th World Chess Olympiad in 2026. This has been announced by the Chairman of Uzbekistan Chess Federation Alisher Sadullayev.
The decision was made yesterday at the General Assembly of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in India’s Chennai city.
The Olympiad will be held either in Tashkent or Samarkand.
Team chess competitions have been held since 1927. In 2024, the 45th World Chess Olympiad will be held in Budapest, Hungary.
