US willingness prerequisite to strong, unwavering consensus: Iran Spox

Naser Kanaani, Spokesman for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has written in a Tweet on Tuesday that “Iran has been & still remains a JCPOA member. The party that needs to prove “good faith” & “seriousness” to “re-enter” the deal is the US.”

“We remain committed to reach a good, strong & lasting agreement that guarantees JCPOA-envisioned benefits for Iran. The onus is on the US,” he added.

Iran and world powers signed the JCPOA in 2015, but the Trump administration withdrew from the internationally recognized deal in May 2018, while the Islamic Republic continued its commitments under the accord.

However, Iran and the P4+1 group (Britain, France, Russia, China plus Germany) resumed talks to revive the nuclear deal, which is waiting for the White House’s political decision.
