Washington (UNA-OIC) – US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken held a phone call with Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok on Sunday to discuss progress in achieving peace and implementing political, security, and economic reform in Sudan.
During the telephone conversation, Blinken reaffirmed US support for Prime Minister Hamdok and the Civilian-led Transitional Government, according to a statement attributable to Spokesperson for the US Department of State Ned Price.
They also discussed regional stability and implementation of Sudan’s peace agreements, as well as the Prime Minister’s new initiative to enhance national unity and implement steps to create a legislative council, reform the Sudanese Armed Forces and integrate other forces into it as a professional army, and provide justice and accountability.
