UNA participates in the 6th FAAPA GA

Rabat (UNA-OIC) – The Acting Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), Muhammed bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami participated in the sixth General Assembly of the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) held on 6-7 October in Morocco, Rabat.

Al-Yami affirmed during his keynote the special status the African continent enjoys in the media programs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its various institutions. 

He stressed that The African continent occupies a prominent position in the UNA, which includes in its membership 27 African countries.

“UNA works to underline in its media programs and activities the African countries’ achievements and contributions and introduce them to other Islamic countries in a way that strengthens communication between peoples and supports joint action to tackle the global challenges,” Al-Yami said.

Al-Yami expressed his hope that UNA’s participation in this meeting would represent a steppingstone for greater cooperation with African news agencies, which have supported the Union since its establishment and have been keen to contribute effectively to all its initiatives.
