Istanbul (UNA-OIC) – The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) participated in the 12th session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held today in Istanbul, Türkiye, under the theme of “Combating Disinformation and Islamophobia in the Post-Truth Era”.
UNA was represented in the conference by His Excellency the Acting Director General, Mr. Mohammed bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Director General met with a number of senior officials, including His Excellency the OIC Secretary-General, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, and several ambassadors and diplomats.
The Union’s participation in the conference comes as one of the OIC media institutions.
It is noteworthy that the conference will discuss the challenges facing the media sector and its infrastructure in the OIC member states.
It also discusses several issues, most notably the Palestinian issue and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, highlighting the attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in addition to the importance of shedding light on the member states of the African continent, as well as the project to launch the International Organization Award to reward the media and media professionals in the field of promoting dialogue, tolerance and harmony between cultures.
