UNA calls on member agencies to promote news content in Arabic

Jeddah (UNA) – The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) called on member agencies, especially in non-Arabic-speaking countries, to enhance media content in Arabic in their agencies.

“The Arabic language is one of the most important international languages and is spoken by more than 400 million people around the world, which makes it an essential pillar in communication between cultures and peoples,” UNA said in a statement on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day.

UNA urged member news agencies outside the Arab countries, which have not yet launched an Arabic version, to take the initiative to launch an Arabic version on their digital platforms to enhance their media presence and better communicate with speakers of this international language.

UNA stressed that the intensification of news exchange in Arabic between the OIC member states contributes to strengthening Islamic solidarity and spreading Islamic culture.
