In a statement on this occasion, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the 51st UAE National Day is a day to recall our past, realise how far we have come as a nation, and look into the future with a renewed sense of hope and optimism.
“The people of the United Arab Emirates remain to be our top priority. As a nation, we will always continue to create an environment for creativity, innovation, and growth, where all people who call the UAE home can realise their full potential.” His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said, in his message on the 51st UAE National Day.
He went on to assure that the UAE will remain to be a key partner and supporter of human progress, including solving some of the most pressing challenges we face today, such as climate change, food security, pandemics and poverty.
The UAE’s celebration of the National Day comes with the continuation of its confident steps towards a prosperous future, as it formed in 2022 a unique development model in all political, economic, social, scientific and cultural fields after it wrote an extraordinary success story in overcoming the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, based on its proactive approach in planning, management and innovation.
The UAE maintained its upward trend in global competitiveness reports and continued to develop its legislative structure. At the same time, the work of the fourth session of the annual meetings of the UAE government witnessed the launch of ambitious national initiatives and projects in various fields aimed at achieving well-being and a decent life for citizens and residents of the country.
The UAE strengthened its active international presence, confirming its global leadership in the space sector, and approved the general budget of the UAE 2023-2026, with a total expenditure of 252.3 billion dirhams. In parallel, many strategic and vital sectors in the country achieved impressive successes.
The United Arab Emirates celebrated on Friday the 51st National Day, full of pride and glory for the remarkable achievements and gains it has achieved during the “establishment” and “empowerment” stages and is full of ambition and determination to continue the march under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State.

During 2022, the UAE participated in the most important international events, the foremost of which was the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 6 to 18 November.
The UAE participated in the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, held from 15 to 16 November under the slogan: “Recovering Together, Recovery Stronger” through a high-level delegation of Ministers.
The UAE recorded a prominent presence in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held from 20 to 26 September in New York.
The UAE participated in the 18th Francophone Summit, hosted by the Tunisian island of Djerba, on the 19th and 20th of November.
In a related context, the UAE continued the path of achievements related to its election for the presidency or membership of UN and international institutions and bodies, as the UAE assumed its duties as a member of the Human Rights Council for the period 2022-2024.
Last March, the UAE assumed the presidency of the UN Security Council, giving priority in its work to the agenda of women, global peace and security, climate security, and cooperation between the Council and the League of Arab States, in addition to addressing recent developments on security issues around the world.
The UAE won membership in the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO” for the third category for the years 2022-2025 and also won the presidency of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space “COPUOS”, one of the most significant committees in the United Nations.
In a new global achievement for the UAE’s peaceful nuclear program, the Managing Director and CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Mohammed Al Hammadi, won the new chairman of the International Organization of Nuclear Operators.
