Sudanese, Egyptian forces conclude joint military drill in Merowe

Merowe, Sudan (UNA-OIC) – Sudanese Chief of Staff Gen. Mohamed Osman Al Hussein and his Egyptian counterpart, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Fareed Hejazi, attended on Sunday the end of Drill of the Nile Eagles (2) at General Awad Khalafalla Air Base in Merowe, Sudan’s Northern State.

Addressing the event, Gen. Al Hussein said such joint Sudanese-Egyptian military exercises, conducted with the participation of the Ground and Special Forces of both nations, do not target a specific country. 

He praised the level of improvement in the second version of the Nile Eagles, spelling out that the drill contributes to enhancing relations between Sudan and Egypt as well as the integration of the national security of both countries.

Al Hussein conveyed the greetings of President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al Burhan to the forces participating in the military drill and expressed appreciation of efforts made.
