New York (UNA-OIC) – Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United Nations Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman chaired today segments of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, as part of his duties as the UNGA Vice President.
Somalia’s Caretaker Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Guled addressed the landmark session, which goes virtually for the first time in the UN’s 75-year history. He called on world leaders to work together to find a lasting solution to global challenges.
More than 100 world leaders, thousands of diplomats and advocates come together to tackle unprecedented global challenges. The theme for this General Debate of the 75th session of the General Assembly is “The Future We Want, the United Nations We Need: Reaffirming our collective commitment to multilateralism – confronting COVID-19 through effective multilateral action”.
Guled said that the debate provides a timely reminder of the need for world leaders to renew their common aspirations and work together to forge the bright future they want.
