Saudi Red Crescent prepares 25 emergency centers to serve pilgrims in Makkah

Makkah (UNA-OIC) – The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has set up 25 emergency centers, with more than 270 health practitioners, to provide medical services to the pilgrims in Makkah during the current Hajj season.

SRCA has provided this medical staff with 52 ambulances distributed among the emergency centers, as well as 12 motorbikes and six electric carts working in the Makkah Great Mosque. This is in addition to the volunteer teams that serve as backup for the Authority’s work in dealing with emergency cases and injuries.

Yousef Samkari, the supervisor of the holy sites, said SRCA has put its emergency teams on full alert and readiness as of Friday, 16 July, in coincidence with the flow of pilgrims to Makkah and the Grand Mosque. He added that the SRCA emergency and volunteer teams have intensified their presence in the Grand Mosque and throughout the holy capital, to provide the best emergency services to the pilgrims.
