Saudi Islamic Affairs Minister, Sudanese counterpart discuss ways to combat terrorism

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh received here on Sunday Sudanese Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Dr. Nasr Al-Din Mufreh and the accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed means to promote joint action in the Islamic domains, in addition to ways to combat terrorism, extremism and fanaticism.

They also stressed the significance of enhancing the understanding of moderate religious discourse, based on tolerance and cooperation in the field of mosque caring, rehabilitating and training of imams as well as holding forums and conferences.

Both sides further agreed to take advantage of the experience of Saudi Arabia in serving the Holy Quran, disseminating Sunnah, the traditions and practices of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and paying utmost care to preserve mosques, in accordance with the approach of moderation.
