Saudi Arabia reopens consular section at Kabul embassy

Riyadh (UNA-OIC) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that it was reopening the consular section in its embassy in Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul as of Tuesday, to provide consular services to Afghan citizens.

Based on the Kingdom’s keenness to provide all consular services to the brotherly Afghan people, the consular section was reopened at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kabul as of Tuesday, 30 November 2021, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an extraordinary ministerial meeting to discuss the worsening humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. This initiative was endorsed by Pakistan, which also offered to host the meeting in Islamabad.
