Palestine's labor minister urges Arab countries to open their markets for Palestinian workforce

Cairo (UNA-OIC) – Palestinian Labor Minister Nasri Abu Jish today called on the Arab countries to open their markets for the Palestinian workforce to help Palestine cut down on unemployment and poverty rates.

Abu Jish told WAFA, on the sidelines of the 47th session of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) held in Cairo, that Palestine’s participation in this meeting gives it an opportunity to be in touch with the Arab counterparts to discuss how to help the Palestinian workers.

The labor minister said he met some of his counterparts to solicit their support for the upcoming donor meeting on support for employment in Palestine, which will be held on the sidelines of the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) meeting in Geneva in March 2022.

He added that an arrangement was made with a number of Arab ministers, chiefly from Kuwait and Qatar, to sign a memorandum of understanding on receiving Palestinian workers, especially in the fields of education and engineering.
