Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the decision taken by Chad’s Presidency to form a committee whose mission is to identify and communicate with the opposition armed movements, and to agree with them on their participation in the upcoming national dialogue.
The OIC General Secretariat, which followed this important step with great interest, urges all armed movements to cooperate with the government to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable peace, a matter that allows the country to direct its energy and efforts towards development, stability and prosperity, especially since Chad plays an important role in combating terrorism and extremism in the Sahel region.
The General Secretariat reaffirms that the OIC stands by Chad at this crucial stage in its history, with the aim of achieving all the aspirations of the Chadian people.
