Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has said it is following with concern the situation in Somalia and the positions of different parties in connection with the elections.
In a statement issued Sunday, the OIC urged all parties involved to engage in dialogue as the only option to end disputes and reach an all-inclusive agreement.
The General Secretariat emphasized the need for restraint, non-violence and de-escalation at this delicate moment in the history of Somalia. It also affirmed that the OIC stands in full solidarity with the Horn of Africa nation to overcome its hardships and difficulties, and to provide security, stability and unity to its people.
