Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) took part in the “Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue Conference: Enriching Future Communities” that was held virtually on November 5.

The conference, which was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, was organized through the collaboration of the OIC, Prague Group (OICPG), and the Anna Lindh Foundation. The event focused on the global efforts to seize the COVID-9 crisis as an opportunity towards shared responsibility and action.

During the conference, the OIC General Secretariat highlighted the values of solidarity and unity to address the negative ramifications of COVID-19 through collective action by governments, international organizations, NGOs, civil societies, religious leaders, and private sectors.

The Jeddah-based General Secretariat emphasized that dialogue needs to be upheld as an effective instrument to generate inter-group solidarity, intercultural, and interreligious cooperation and understanding.
