OIC condemns deadly terrorist attack in Logar Province, Afghanistan

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on a student residence in Logar Province, Afghanistan, which resulted in casualties and injuries.

In a statement issued on Saturday, OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and government of Afghanistan. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Secretary-General reiterated the OIC’s principled and firm stance against all forms and manifestations of terrorism, regardless of their motives and causes. He also reaffirmed the OIC’s support for and solidarity with Afghanistan in combating terrorism.

According to Afghan local officials, high school students were among 30 people killed after a car bomb went off late on Friday close to a guesthouse ​in Pul-e-Alam, the capital of eastern Logar province.
