Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the acts of sabotage in Niger following the announcement of the provisional results of the presidential election runoff.
OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen expressed his grave concern over these unprecedented acts of violence in Niger’s political history. He called on all stakeholders to exercise restraint and to resort to legal means to settle any dispute that may have ensued.
Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed the OIC’s principled and firm stance against all forms of violence and called once again on all those concerned to prioritize social peace throughout the long democratic march of states.
