OIC condemns Israeli demolition of Palestinian homes and facilities

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the demolition of homes and schools that led to the displacement of dozens of Palestinian families from their homes and lands.

The OIC General Secretariat stressed that the action falls within the framework of the policies of ethnic cleansing, annexation and colonial settlement plans implemented by the Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories, a matter that constitutes a violation of international law and relevant resolutions of the United Nations.

The General Secretariat called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in exercising pressure on Israel, the occupying power, to stop its violations and crimes throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.

The General Secretariat asserted that what happened does not serve the comprehensive and just peace process called for by the Arab Initiative, based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
