OIC condemns Israeli decision to build 1257 more Colonial Settlement Units

Jeddah, (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the Israeli authorities’ decision to invite contractor bids to build 1257 new colonial settlement units southeast of occupied Al-Quds, to isolate the city from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.

The OIC General Secretariat considered the Israeli move a continuation of its policy of annexation and settlement, which not only violates international law and relevant UN resolutions, especially Security Council resolution 2334, but it also does not serve to further the peace process, based on the two-state solution for an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In this connection, the OIC General Secretariat called on the international community to shoulder its responsibility and to prevail upon Israel, the occupation force, to stop its ongoing violations and crimes across the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including Al-Quds.
