Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the successful conclusion of this year’s Hajj season.

Al-Othaimeen confirmed that the Saudi government provided a lesson in managing crises and large crowds as it was able to organize the Hajj rituals, in light of the crisis of the novel coronavirus pandemic without recording any infection among the pilgrims.

He attributed the successful Hajj season to a series of solid measures and decisions taken by the Kingdom since the outbreak of the epidemic, and confining the season to a limited number of pilgrims, to ensure that the pilgrimage is held in a safe atmosphere as well as ensuring the safety of everyone from the threats of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Secretary-General also commended Saudi Arabia’s adoption, during the Hajj season, of the principle of preserving the human soul of the pilgrims.
