MWL's SG receives senior scholars, muftis, and religious leaders of the Islamic world

Mina (UNA-OIC) – His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, received at the MWL’s building, in Mina, based in Makkah, a number of scholars, muftis and religious leaders from different Muslim countries. His Excellency received a myriad of calls from Islamic dignitaries; muftis, heads of Islamic centers and sheikhdoms, and members of the Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and from the Islamic world.

The meetings witnessed the exchange of congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, and on the occasion of the return of pilgrims from all over the world to the Sacred Sites, after the decline of the Coronavirus pandemic. They also discussed prospects for cooperation in serving the Islamic nation, in addition to a number of issues related to the Islamic affair.

The MWL’s guests commended the great services provided to the pilgrims, congratulating the great success of the Hajj season, while praising, in the context of this success, the contents of the Arafat sermon delivered by His Excellency for this year, which focused on the Islamic Ummah’s creedal constants, unity, values and behavior. The sermon was followed up by more than six hundred million visitors to the pioneering “Manarat Al-Haramain Digital Platform”, which aired it into fourteen languages.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa’s meetings included the reception of His Excellency the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Prof. Shawki Allam, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council, Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al-Majed, and His Excellency the Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa also received the Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs, Dr. Dato Idris bin Ahmad, the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yaqut Khalil Qumas, and the President of the Nahdlatul Ulama Association Sheikh Yahya Khalil, to which 120 million members belong.

The receptions also included His Excellency the Iraqi Minister of Hajj, Sheikh Dr. Sami Omran Musa Al-Masoudi, His Excellency the President of the Iraqi Sunni Endowment Office Sheikh Abdul-Khaliq Al-Azzawi, and members of the Iraqi Fiqh Academy. 

His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa also received His Excellency the Minister of Religious Affairs of Pakistan, Mufti Abdul Shakur Sardar Khan, His Excellency the Jordanian Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, His Excellency the Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Indigenous Education Sheikh Dah Ould Amar Taleb, and His Excellency the President of the Council of Pakistani Scholars Sheikh Hafez Taher Ashrafi.
