Mauritania, France sign agreement on environment

Glasgow (UNA-OIC) – Mauritanian Minister of Environment Marieme Bekaye and French Minister of Ecological Transition Barbara Pompili signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of environment.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the COP26 Climate Summit currently being held in Glasgow, the United Kingdom.

The agreement aims to strengthen ties between the two countries and consolidate joint action in areas related to climate change, such as combating desertification, preserving biodiversity, protecting nature, upgrading innovative tech solutions, as well as supporting institutional capabilities.
