Beirut (UNA-OIC) – Lebanese Industry Minister Imad Hoballah said on Monday that an agreement will be signed next week with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) on the production of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine in Lebanon.
“During the second week of June, a deal will be signed to produce Sputnik vaccine in Lebanon, through Arwan Pharmaceutical Industries,” Hoballah told a press conference at Baabda Palace following a meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
Under this agreement, 30 to 60 million doses of the Russian vaccine will be produced annually, provided that the manufacture of this jab begins as soon as the raw materials imported from Russia arrive in Lebanon, the minister stressed.
