Beirut (UNA-OIC) – Lebanese President General Michel Aoun underlined his commitment to the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, regarding the Lebanese crisis, noting the interest shown by France’s president towards Lebanon and the Lebanese.
Aoun’s stances came during his meeting at the Presidential Palace today with French Ambassador Bruno Foucher, on a farewell visit to mark the end of his diplomatic missions in Lebanon, which lasted for three years.
The president thanked the ambassador for the efforts he made during his stay to strengthen the Lebanese-French relations in all fields. He also wished him every success in his new diplomatic missions and granted him the National Order of the Cedar (Rank of Senior Officer) in recognition of his efforts.
Further, President Aoun regretted that Prime Minister-Designate Dr. Mustafa Adib was unable to form a new government as per the principles of the French initiative, especially regarding the reforms that are supposed to be fulfilled, whether those which require laws approved by the parliament or those that will be issued by the government soon after its formation and gaining trust by the parliament.
