Pakistan's foreign minister to begin Bahrain visit today

Islamabad (UNA-OIC) – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will embark today on a two-day visit to Bahrain, leading a high-level delegation for the 2nd session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

Qureshi will co-chair with his Bahraini counterpart, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the second JMC session, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday, pointing out that the inaugural session of the Pakistan-Bahrain JMC was held in Islamabad on 5-6 February 2017.

During the JMC session, both sides will hold expert-level talks, particularly focusing on commerce, investment, energy, overseas employment, agriculture, information and broadcasting, tourism, and other areas of mutual interest.

While staying in Manama, Foreign Minister Qureshi will meet with the Bahraini leadership, to discuss ways of further strengthening bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
