Iraq's FM, Czech counterpart discuss cooperation in preventing irregular migration

Baghdad (UNA-OIC) – Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received today a phone call from his Czech counterpart Jakub Kulhánek, during which they discussed enhancing cooperation in preventing irregular migration and reaching common understandings to stop the network of smuggling Iraqis to Lithuania.

“Hussein received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jakub Kulhánek, confirming the depth of the historical relations between the two countries,” the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Iraqi diplomat called for bilateral cooperation in all fields, praising the positions of the Czech Republic in support of Iraq in its war against Daesh terrorist gangs. He also lauded the economic cooperation with Czechia and expressed his desire to find new opportunities that contribute to achieving the aspirations of the two countries.

“Iraq appreciates the role played by the partners within the European Union to support the ongoing political process in the country,” Foreign Minister Hussein noted.
