Baghdad (UNA-OIC) – Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced that the Prime Minister, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, has survived an assassination attempt with an explosives-laden drone.
“A failed assassination attempt against Prime Minister, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, by a booby-trapped drone, tried to target his residence in the Green Zone in Baghdad,” the media cell said in a statement carried by Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Sunday morning.
The prime minister was not harmed and he was in good health, it added, pointing out that the security forces are taking the necessary measures regarding this failed assassination attempt.
