Iran summons Swedish charge d’affaires over sacrilege of Holy Quran

A range of anti-Islamic incidents occurred in Sweden over the past few days in which the leader of a radical group set the Holy Quran on fire.

The Swedish charge d’affaires was summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the absence of the country’s ambassador in Tehran.

The director of the third Bureau of Western Europe of the Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed Iran’s strong protest to the heinous act which he said took place under the pretext of the freedom of expression in the light of support from the Swedish Police.

The official called for a strong immediate measure of the Swedish government so as to guarantee that such measures will not occur again.

The Swedish diplomat pledged to convey Iran’s protest to his respected government.
