Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Acting Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi on Wednesday visited the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, where he was received by OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen and senior officials in the Organization.
During the visit, the two sides discussed ways of joint cooperation between the IMCTC and OIC, in order to enhance their efforts in combating terrorism and rejecting violent extremism, as well as achieving integration and strategic partnership, while expressing their desire to realize more cooperation, coordination and integration in various fields related to this regard.
Al-Moghedi indicated that this cooperation contributes to the efforts of developing societies intellectually and consolidating the approach of moderation and tolerance. He added that this cooperation comes within the framework of the IMCTC’s strategy, which aims to build and strengthen partnerships, cooperation and coordination with international organizations, especially the OIC, whose most counties are members of the coalition as well.
It is worth noting that in mid-January 2020, the IMCTC and OIC signed a memorandum of joint cooperation, with the aim of exchanging experiences and unifying efforts in the various fields of combating terrorism.
