Egypt approves charter to establish council of states bordering Red Sea, Gulf of Aden

Cairo (UNA-OIC) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi approved a charter to establish the Council of Arab and African States bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The charter establishing the council was signed in the Saudi capital Riyadh on 6 January 2020 by eight countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, Eritrea, Egypt, Yemen and Jordan.
