Brazil has 584,016 confirmed cases of COVID-19

The report released late Wednesday (Jun. 3) by the Health Ministry includes 28,633 new people infected with the novel coronavirus, bringing the total up to 584,016. The result is up 4.9 percent from the previous day’s (2) 555,383.

According to the Health Ministry, 1,349 new related deaths were notified in 24 hours, raising the death toll to 32,548—up 4.1 percent from the previous 31,199.

Of the total case tally, 312,851 are being monitored and 238,617 have recovered. There are 4,115 obits being investigated.

São Paulo is still the epicenter of the disease, with the highest number of deaths (8,276), followed by Rio de Janeiro (6,010), Ceará (3,605), Pará (3,193), and Pernambuco (3,012).
