Baku (UNA-OIC) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, commander-in-chief, and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have today visited the Alley of Honors and the Alley of Martyrs.
According to Azerbaijan State News, AZERTAC, President Aliyev addressed the nation at the Alley of Martyrs, where he and the first lady paid tribute to national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at his tomb.
The head of state and his wife also paid tribute to the prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva. They also put flowers at the graves of state figure Aziz Aliyev and physician, scientist Tamerlan Aliyev.
President Aliyev and First Lady Aliyeva then visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they commemorated Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, and put flowers at their graves. The president also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument and addressed the nation at the Alley of Martyrs.
