OIC chief holds phone call with Tunisian FM over latest developments in Tunisia

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Following up on the current political developments in Tunisia, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen held a phone conversation with Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi, on Tuesday.

During the conversation, they reviewed the latest developments in the North African nation, with the Secretary-General stressing the OIC’s keenness on the security and stability of Tunisia and its full support for the Tunisian people. He expressed the hope for Tunisia to swiftly overcome the current phase and regain stability and calm in response to the Tunisians’ aspirations for welfare and stability.

The telephone conversation served as an opportunity for the Secretary-General to express satisfaction with the distinct relations of cooperation between the OIC and the Republic of Tunisia. He also valued Tunisia’s active role and constructive contributions to the Organization, expressing his aspiration to further support and enhance means of cooperation in all fields to serve the objectives of the OIC and the interest of Tunisia and its noble people.
