Jeddah (UNA-OIC0 – The Republic of Azerbaijan marked the 30th anniversary of its accession to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at a reception held at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last Thursday, November 11.
OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen addressed the ceremony, expressing the Organization’s happiness to participate in celebrating the occasion. He asserted his deep appreciation to Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the OIC Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev.
Al-Othaimeen indicated that since it acceded to the OIC, Azerbaijan has consistently demonstrated its strong commitment to the principles of the Organization and has shown its support for its mission and activities.
For his part, Ambassador Abdullayev said that Azerbaijan pays special attention to its relations with the OIC, noting that these relations are among his country’s priorities and are constantly developing.
