Attacks in London and War Against terrorism Part-II

The metropolitan city of London faced its worse fear of terror strike on Thursday July 7, 2005 when underground tube along with the bus service were targeted to harm the innocent civilians, increasing the risk factor of further terror attacks across the UK & Europe.

Near simultaneous explosions rocked at least three London subways trains and ripped apart a double-decker bus at the morning rush hour on Thursday, killing 50 and injuring more than 1000 people. Striking incidents were reported at the Aldgate station near the Liverpool Street railway terminal; Edgware Road and King’s Cross in north London, Old Street in the financial district and Russell Square, near the British Museum.

Just a day before attacks were erupted, Londoners celebrated the announcement that their city will host the 2012 Olympic games after beating the archrival Paris and Moscow, New York and Madrid in a nail-biting contest in Singapore. However, Giselle Davies, a spokeswoman for the International Olympic Committee, said the committee still had "full confidence" in London.

Perhaps the idea behind London explosions was to play havoc with the G-8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland as leader of the major industrial nations including Russia were gathered to review peaceful pursuits, climatic conditions and aid to Africa. Even though the meeting of the members of the Group of Eight continued after attacks yet the focus was more on terrorism than aid charade.

Due to heavy loss of lives terror attacks no matter where they occurs are inevitable hence all the members of G-8 summit condemns the attacks in London but whether they will follow more active strategy to alter to veto attacks is too early to say but one thing is certain that “War Against terrorism Part-II” has just originated that too direct from UK.

In the meanwhile, "Secret Group of Al Qaeda’s Jihad in Europe," previously unknown group, has claimed responsibility for four blasts that ripped through London during rush hour on Thursday morning, killing at least 45 people and disrupting a summit of the Group of Eight leaders in Scotland. The group claimed the explosions were in retaliation for Britain’s involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Terrorist attacks on Thursday in London that targeted rail and bus passengers during the morning rush hour has certainly increased security concerns on transportation routs as majority in UK and Europe uses cheaper modes of transportation i.e. underground tubes subways and buses to reach official and educational destinations.

Furthermore, the modus operandi to conduct terror attacks has drastically artifice from airports and on airplanes in to passenger railroads and bus systems that provides greater achievements in terrifying peoples and government plenipotentiaries at large.

Before London attacks, the Moscow subway bombing in February 2004 that killed 41 people; and the Madrid rail bombing in March 2004 that killed 191 people are the worst train-related plots showed the swift yet striking change in terror tricks manipulated by intelligent cum affluent mafia. After all observation, planning and conducting explosions definitely requires huge finance and no one but only target terrorists or even nations could be involved in the entire episode.

The conspiracy behind London attacks were nothing but to off the track London’s peaceful economically advantageous environment. As attacks derail the economic prosperity hence add clouds of socio-political and economic uncertainty. Therefore, terror attacks are carefully planned to conduct social, moral political and above all humanitarian disasters. Inter alia, the problem with providing too much security via surveillance cameras, police deployments and scanning machines to mass transit is that the cost goes up and the service breaks down.

There’s no denial that UK is major ally of US in formulating, conducting and expanding War Against Terrorism after 9/11 attacks in New York. Hence those who are against the Bush administration and US policies at large may not let Blair administration live in peace, as they might believe that Blair is an equal partner in planting seeds of hatred. Since 11 September there have been 520 arrests, half have been charged with an offence and there are 90 about to go through to court.

After UK’s expeditious services employed in Iraq, it was quite predictable earlier that UK might be the “frontline target” for attack by international terrorists. Not just Asiatic regions but several international communities cum nations including Spain’s new socialist prime minister-elect Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero were against the decision of Bush & Blair to began the worlds worse disaster of invading Afghanistan & Iraq. They were of the opinion that it will trigger more terror in the western soil and might take hold of entire Europe in lieu of US and UK’s strategic philosophy of invasion cum inspection over weaker nations. The 11 March attacks on four commuter trains in Madrid which killed 200 people was Europe’s worst terror attack since the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

Since 9/11 attacks and the advent of War Against terrorism terror attacks has increased tremendously, as from the Muslim’s holy land of Saudi Arabia to Tunisia, Indonesia, Kenya, Morocco Russia, Lebanon, and Myanmar and now in London, UK each nation has faced different kind of terror attacks including suicide bombing, explosions, kidnapping and killings of innocent civilians, diplomats, premiers and foreign dignitaries. Besides spreading barbarism attacks clearly indicates the failure modus operandi west had adopted in terms of eliminating terrorism at grass root level.

After the London attacks Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Jacques Chirac, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder including U.S. President George W. Bush expressed total solidarity with UK and assured maximum support to destroy the terrorists network stimulated against Western block in particular. President Bush vowed the war on terrorism would continue following deadly blasts in London until “an ideology of hate” has been overcome.

However, Muslims in London and elsewhere expect moderate treatment from the western block hence will be disappointed if they will be considered as sect against west. Already attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq that resulted in mass massacre of innocent lives has disappointed Muslims at large, therefore any action of inspection against the people following Islamic code of conducts will trigger negative approach towards western leaders.

However, UK may be justified in starting war against terrorism-II with more aggression than ever in terms of destroying socio-economic peace of Londoners.

Still an eye for an eye strategy by both the retaliating and oppressing sides must stop before the terrorism engulfs the entire humanity. As I often say terrorism possess no boundaries, culture or religion. It can occur anywhere and at anytime. Hence nothing but an effective measures are desired to kill the evil perception carried out by terrorists and leaders of the great nations. Free and fair relations with the allied forces, ensuring human rights provisions for all, providing or rather promoting economic self sufficiency to the under developed nations may halt the further attacks to occur. Besides it is high time to review the strategy behind War Against Terrorism that has produced more terror than peace. Some how latest wave of terror attacks in London might support Blair’s policy to go along with the US in Iraq, and Afghanistan furthermore, attack on Iran in lieu of its consistent nuclear policy now might be easy to won for the US & UK.

But to eliminate all the routes for further attacks specially in the western soil nations like US, UK, Spain and Russia must consider where and what went wrong that invite terror in peaceful cities like New York and London.
