Cairo (UNA-OIC) – The Arab League has strongly condemned Israeli National Security Minister’s storming and desecration of the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday, lambasting the blatant incursion as part of the Netanyahu government’s implementation of its extremist program and settlement agenda, which further ignites the situation in Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied territories in a very dangerous way.
Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Jamal Rushdi, said in a statement that this storming is a violation of the Holy Mosque and an aggression against the first Qiblah of Muslims, as well as a provocation and disregard for their spiritual feelings by a decision of the Israeli government and protection from its security services.
He stressed that the Netanyahu government bears full responsibility for the move and these extreme right-wing practices and plans and their repercussions on Palestine and the entire region, and their repercussions on world peace, including the potential for igniting a religious war.
