Al-Moghedi briefs Japan's envoy on IMCTC efforts to combat terrorism

Riyadh (UNA-OIC) – Acting Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received Ambassador of Japan to Saudi Arabia Fumio Iwai and his accompanying delegation, at the IMCTC headquarters in Riyadh on Wednesday.

During the audience, the Japanese ambassador listened to a detailed explanation of the IMCTC’s efforts to combat terrorism in the four fields including military, intellectual, media and combating terrorism financing, as well as the role played by the coalition to coordinate the efforts of member states.

Al-Moghedi stated that IMCTC represents an integrated system that seeks to strengthen cooperation among member countries in the various areas of combating terrorism. He also outlined that the coalition is based on legitimacy, independence, coordination and participation values, and seeks to ensure that all actions and efforts of the coalition countries in combating terrorism are compatible with international regulations, norms and laws.

It is worth noting that the IMCTC includes 41 member states working together to coordinate and intensify their efforts in the international war against extremism and terrorism. Member states also join international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
