Cairo, (UNA-OIC) – Egypt’s leading Islamic institute Al-Azhar strongly condemned on Saturday the attempted arson attempt carried out by an Israeli Jewish fanatic on the Church of Gethsemane in occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Azhar described in a statement that this arson attempt as “repugnant” and affirmed that it stems from an extremist terrorist ideology based on the hatred of others. It said terrorist Israeli groups that commit acts of violence are no less dangerous than ISIS.
The leading Egyptian religious institute called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to fight terrorism, condemn terrorist acts, and classify them according to a straight standard regardless of the religion of the perpetrator or the victim.
