A Blossom Caged

A democracy sets free the slayer
A freedom-fighter’s liberty it denies
Child, man, woman, it doesn’t matter
Outcries of suffering it nullifies
A democracy deems justice unpredictable
Justice is relative, dependent on race
Homicide of Arabs is morally acceptable
So Court rules the Israeli murderer an ace
Palestinian she is, so for justice it is time
To deprive a blossom of her rosy years
Bereft of their unfolding by laws of crime
In a cage where dew gives way to tears
Humiliating a teen life by criminals is fine
But Heaven’s justice forgets not a child’s fears
And the blossom He will hold open in no time
Anew He will unfold it, in beads of dew this time
Not tears
